I'm aware this could be seen as going over shaky ground, but I'm wanting to copy my DVD's that I have at home onto my hardive.

This is quite easy, but the file size's are 6gb's plus.

I want to compress these files to an acceptable size and if I could compress them so that I could stick them on a CDR disk that'd be even better - if not I'll have to buy a bigger hardrive.

I'm aware this could sound dodgy, and I don't want to get Scoobynet in any trouble, so could anybody who has the answer please e-mail me at: andym172@hotmail.com

Thanks!

Andy.

p.s. I'm using an Apple Mac

Not sure about with a Mac. Divx is available for Mac. You may find some help converting here.

Easiest way would be to convert to Divx using a PC and copy the file onto a CD for use in your mac.

smart ripper then use vidomi to divx the files i leave them at 900mb for good quality plus unless you have a dvd writer you cant copy and pass on. whole process takes about 4 hrs, works on modded xboxs aswell
if you get stuck email via profie and ill send you all the info on how to rip to quality divx
