Have done all the SmartStart borrocks prior to installing W2000.

Done F6 and added the Compaq SA 5i driver. It partitions up fine, copies the files and reboots into the GUI setup.

Gets about 60% of the way into detecting devices and hangs.

Have unplugged the DDS drive, nothing else I can remove option wise. Flashed the BIOS but no difference.

Suggestions?

Cheers David.

There's a newer SA 5i driver, so going to re-start the install with that next. I'll double check the SCSI termination.

Thumbs up

Against my better judgement, I let SmartStart do a guided install and it's got past the detection phase

Generally not, I just prefer the manual install option over guided.

It's good for setting up the Diags partition, ACU and the diskette builder.
