Question

Hello, I have a problem with a PC. The system has a upgrade version of XP on it and seems to take 10 mins to boot up. Anyone know whats going on?

I have XP on my home PC, it's fine and has more stuff on it.

Could I need a fresh install?

Not tried it with XP, but certainly in the past, starting with WinME or 98, and upgrading t0 2000 left a very dodgy OS at the end.

Best bet is to start from scratch in my experience.

Are the specs of the PC up to XP? As usual MS upgrades seem to need more resources. If memory serves there is/was also a XP patch on the MS site for quick booting XP?

Should have known it wasn't a patch for XP, rather a util to see which other vendor broke the boot up sequence.
