I am using Outlook Express on my iMac System 9.2.2 and yesterday it "quit" the programme and did not retreive anymore mail.
Do i have a dodgy email, I can get some and then bombs out!!
This is the error message that it gives:
"The server returned the following error
Can't get lock. Mailbox in use."
If i have a dodgy email, how do I get rid of it?????
I am with BT openworld surftime
Thanks for any help

"mailbox in use" means the server thinks you're already connected. This could be from an earlier attempt to collect email when OE crashed, and the server hasn't timed out yet (usually takes a few minutes).
There used to be ways that emails could cause OE to crash when it downloaded them. We used to see this a fair bit at work. If you can, use the web interface to check your mailbox. Also, make sure you're up-to-date with Windows Update, so you have the latest bug fixes for OE.

Yes, go to www.btopenworld.com
Click on email (second from left at very top), you don't need to sign on to BT and all you need to know is your email address and its password (which I'm sure is not the one you can't remember - hopefully)
