removal of cd labels?

Lightbulb

I need to remove the labels on the cd's that
I burned in order for them to play without
any problems in the car.
Whats the best way of getting them off please,

Best thing to do is to copy the contents of those CDs onto new ones, I'm afraid. The label side of a CD is actually more fragile than the side that's read by the laser, and if you try to remove the label by scratching at it or using solvents, you risk destroying the data on the disc.

At the very least, copy the contents of each disc onto your PC before you try to remove the label, just in case. If you must try to remove the labels, then water is the safest solvent to use, and don't use a fingernail or any strong abrasives. Trouble is, solvents, abrasives or even just pulling hard on the label could easily damage the disc.
