Help - Browser window size

When I browse through todays topics, if I see anything I want to read I right click on the link and then click "open in new window".
I want to make that new window "maximized" but it continues to open in a very small window and is driving me nuts.
Any ideas ?

Open one link in a new window. Click and drag the edges of the window to the size you wish it to be. Do not close the window yet
Now start a new IE session (ie by clicking on the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop), and repeat the above.
Now close the first session down completely, followed by the second.
Restart Internet Explorer and you should find all new windows will now be the size you set them to
