Hi guys,
My first venture in the here.
As SN is full of IT types I thought I give you a go.
I'm looking at going ADSL via Zen or PlusNet. In the suscribe only mode. i.e. I provide the kit.
I have three computers already on a Netgear 10/100 hub, so I want a 4 port ADSL router. The ones that look good are the Netgear DG814 and the Solwise SAR715.
DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY ADVICE PLEASE.
Also the netgear has a software firewall and the Solwise has a hardware firewall Whats the main difference??
HELP PLEASE.
Thanks in advance.
Ian

I have a Solwise 705, which is the same as the 715 without the built in hub. It's been really good, with just a couple of gremlins, but nothing major. Setup was dead easy.

I bought the Draytek from here as they seemed to do it for the best price when I was shopping around :-

I think it's a one man outfit, but the guy there is very helpful and reliable.

Thanks guys, you just let me answer a question from my boss in about 35 seconds!
He was asking me about running 2 PC's of his ADSL connection & is now of to http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/ to get the kit.
Suffice to say my access to Scoobynet at work is safe for the foreseeable future!
Even managed to get a dig at him about loosing MSN Messenger
