Been trying to convert a film using tmpgenc but its taking ages.
Left it going overnight at home and it had done about 2% and said it still had 350 hours left! Any idea how I can do this quicker?

Cheers

Get a faster machine ! Seriously, whats the spec ?

It can take a long time, especially converting from one compressed format to another, like you are. Maybe converting to uncompressed avi and back to mpeg will be quicker ?

Should be fine then. The estimated time is usually way out, but my old 1.2 Athlon used to go through a 2 hour mpeg in about 5-7 hours.

Question

You could also try using VirtualDub to see if that works better ?
