Sonic Stuffed Help Needed
#1
The lovely Yank company I work for supplied the kit from the USA.
Our Sonic Wall Pro 200 went down early this week. The replacement we had shipped is crap (or seems so as well) Alarm and Test light permanantly lit (worked for about 5 minutes before it crapped out)
Seems like we need to find some help in Bucks.
Any suggestions appreciated.

There's a reset button on the back of the unit which factory defaults the Pro.
Unplug everything from the Sonic.
Push and hold the Erase button in, then power up.
Once the Test LED flashes, let go of erase.
You'll need to upload a new firmware to the unit from http://firmware.sonicwall.com/ as the reset dumps the previous version in case it's corrupt.

Once you've done a reset, the Sonic will be back at it's factory default of 192.168.168.168
Point a web browser from a PC which is in the same IP range (maybe 192.168.168.200) and the Sonic will step you through getting a new firmware image loaded, then the initial config again.

Oh well.....late again
Do what chrisb says and it should work fine. If the firmware is corrupt then you will need to import the policy or re-configure the box once the new firmware is on.
Make sure that you use 6.3.1.4 of the firmware as this fixs a number of known issues and is the most stable of the 6.3 range of firmware. Version 7 is due out in the next few months and will alter the look and feel of the front-end as well as the way the box does rules.
