A Palm V we have at work is requiring the time and alignment settings reconfiguraing on a daily basis. What could it be?
I suspect a bettery backup failure, does anyone know how, or if you can open the unit and replace such a part?

AFAIK This is not doable. The PalmV/Vx in fact all Palms with built in rechargable batteries have a finite livespan. The best option would be to purchase a new device probably a new Zire which is more then a match for the Palm V.
