palm 515 - map storage on card?

I have a M515 which I use with navman for sat nav.
I run the navman software, both smartpath city & trip which I have stored on a 16meg card but I can't seem to store the maps themselves on card? This is a pain as the standard 16meg machine fills up quickly and my intention was to keep spare cards in the car with different maps of countries / citys etc to be used as/when required.
any one know how to overcome this problem, down loading to the palm ticking the card storage still puts it in to the main memory??
