finally got my Voodoo3 card running under XP last night so settled down for some Half Life via 512 broadband - fantastic stuff!!

Anyone on here play, can recommend some servers / maps etc?

Stupid question maybee BUT Whats counterstrike, and where can I get it?

If you have Half-Life, you can download the CStrike add-on from HERE but I can't remember if you have to download the mod or retail version, but the site should explain.

XSTi play HERE most of the time or on a private version.

Oh yeah

Counterstrike is the co-operative team player add-on to half-life. It takes the form of Terrorists vs Counter-Terrorists with missions and objectives to be achieved.

try unreal tournament, return to castle wolfenstein, quake3, medal of honour allied assult, ut2003, quake, tribes, unreal tournament: tactical ops, star wars: jedi outcast.

If you have HL, you need the latest FULL patch of the MOD version of CS.

Download it, it's excellent fun.

Once you have half-life a whole new world of online gaming opens up. There are loads of MODS apart from CS all free downloads or on mag cover discs.

Firearms is a good one to try, not so intense as CS but there are loads of others.

Use gamespy (another free download) to locate servers with the various mods running (and with poeple on them). If your new to the game/MOD use the newbie servers or ones with frendly fire turned off.

got some HL in at the weekend also got UT running (after a struggle with the Voodoo3 card and XP)- much more fun IMHO.
