Question

Over the weekend we tried to move Exchange but encountered a problem:

Old server running NT4 & Exchange 5.5, backed up the data to the network.

Brought down the server, and brought up the new server with the same computer name.

New server running W2K, installed Exchange 5.5 to the same level as previously (patch levels, etc) and the same naming convention.

When Exchange came up the Internet mail connector was greyed out and no mail could be sent in or out.

Where to we go from here?

Remove the connector and re-install it?

Has anyone encountered this before? I guess the mistake was following the Microsoft instructions to the letter!!!
