when i right click on a picture and try to " save picture as.. "
i can choose what to call the picture, where to save it etc.
when i try and open the picture (using windows picture and fax viewer) it says " no preview available "
If i right click and look at properties it says it is a GIF imaage.

You may find that it's an ASP generated image link, and you've actually saved an HTML file. Try opening it up in notepad and see what it looks like.
If it doesn't look like text, try opening it in Paintbrush, or in the MS Photo Editor that comes with MS Office.

it only seems to be on images i am trying to save from a web page. I have tried to open using Word, Notepad, Paint, Irfanview, Word pad and Windows pic and fax viewer.
The strange thing is that i have some images saved from the same web site from a while ago and they open up fine using windows pic. and fax viewer
I've even tried to save and open the SAME image that i already have, and that didn't open either ! ? ?
