I'm running XP on a Abit KT7a-raid mobo.
Because of Aspi i've got loads of IRQ sharing going on. Whats happening is the USB host controller seems to be conflicting with the Highpoint raid controller making the drives run really slowly.. Is there any way to move one of them to another IRQ?
Cheers

You can get rid of ACPI, but i think it's a one way only operation. In device manager, click on computer, should say ACPI pc, click on properties, driver, update driver, display list, show all devices and select standard PC. I have done it this way before and had no problems. But take no responsibility for your pc....

Be very careful.
I did this to fix my BSOD problem, and it worked OK, but I have also read that this can leave your machine totally stuffed and you won't be able to boot at all.
Also, I have just reinstalled from scratch, and chose Standard PC driver during install and the overall performance is much better.
You need to hit F5 at the screen that says 'Hit F6 if you need to install a SCSI driver' You can then select Standard PC from a list.
Search on ACPI or Standard PC on the microsoft technet website and you'll see lots of articles ...
