Question

I am after some. I can't be having with this reading manuals malarkey, so it's got to be intuitive for someone more used to spreadsheets and a little word processing.

I thought I had found one (Trellix, which came free with my scanner) but it tied me into one of two web hosting sites. Otherwise it was everything I ever wanted - or at least I think so, because I couldn't actually test it fully.

Does anyone know of something similar? I've got a copy of Frontpage but it's too complicated and BTopenworld does not seem to like it.

All input welcomed (unless it's pointing out my lack of IT skills and desire to spend any money on this, which are taken for granted).

Microsoft Frontpage

Drag and drop , etc... no hand-coding of html required.

Unhappy

I did try Frontpage, and set up a couple of pictures, but when I tried to upload it it said to try FTP.

Didn't I read somewhere that Microsoft wants everyone to use its sites/software so make it awkward to load other web sites?

Could have been dreaming.

to upload frontpage stuff, your hosting ISP should have frontpage extension enable. then you dont need to use any FTP software to upload. frontpage has it's own uploading software build-in.

if your hosting ISP dont use frontpage extension, you can still upload your html files using any FTP software.

Looks like I had better have another go at Frontpage then.

That Trellix was what I call easy, and Frontpage was OK I guess, but does anyone know if BTopenworld have the right extensions to handle Frontpage uploads?

The uploads as someone said earlier should not be a problem, just use a ftp program such as cuteftp or wsftp, you can usually get a trial copy off the web that will do the job.

You probably want to check if your ISP supports all the frontpage bits though. Stuff like submit forms don't work with some ISPs because they don't run the necessary extensions etc. If they don't support them all then you can use frontpage for everything else no problem, and there are always alternatives available on the web that are not microsoft specific and will do the job.

For now I have use an ftp program to set up a couple of pages, so at least it's running.

I can now post my own pictures on here and elsewhere.
