I need to be able to synchronise the time on a number (say 10) of PC's with the time on a Server which they run Software from.

All the PC's are on a domain.

Anyone any ideas?

Cheers

Andy

If 2000 (known as NT5 if you're not using AD), go to a dos prompt on the w/s, type
NET TIME /SETSNTP:ip address of domain controller

Check the entry in HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\ Parameters

If it's NT4 you need to install the Time service that I think comes in the Resource Kit.

or in really basic form, you could mod the login scripts the set clients with:

net time \\servername /set /yes

Assuming that they have the rights to modify their own clock.

Cool

This utility is the danglies

Abouttime.exe

Install it on each PC & have it reference one particular server on the network for their time.

Install on the server & have that reference one of the Atomic Internet clocks (list included in .exe).

In that way, only one machince need have access to o/side world & all the rest take their time from it

Accurate to microsecs per year etc etc.

It's not the fact that they lose time, They just all need to be the same time. I can't be arsed going round to them.. and if they do lose time , they'll be reset on reboot anyway (If that makes sense )
