Java Virtual Machine - WinXP can't download

I need Java Virtual Machine to view some documentation, but when the dialogue box appears telling me I need it, the resulting link on the MS Website says its no longer available!
What should I do next ?

Which is preferrable - Sun or MS ?
I'd go for Sun anytime but I'm worried MS in their infinite wisdom, may have tweaked the Java language and as a consequence the Sun one isn't as compatible?

Microsoft's VM can also be downloaded from Visualware. Download the file msjavx86.exe.
