Here's a good one for you!
I've got a PC in the office which has a HP Deskjet attached to it. Now, I remember a while ago, we had things setup so that we macintosh users could access it. and I'm pretty sure this was setup via some kinda queue on one of our W2K servers.
I've gone to the NT server, got the printer added to it, now what? what do I do to share it out for macs? or is it something I need to do on the PC iteself (running 98 SE)
Any help appreciated.
Why do I want to do this? Well, I've gone to Mac OS 10.2 and it won't play ball with our Samsung ML-4500 printer, because there are, as yet, no OS X drivers for it, and I don't think I could wangle swapping the printers, or getting a new one for us lot, cos I'm the only one who really prints things out.

I know the answer to this but I can't think ATM. Will have to resurrect my iMac & have a play! Didn't use this set-up in the end as my 6P is not mac compatible
With a jet-direct or print-server its easy, just use the IP address, but you know that probably. Is Appletalk protocol added to the W2K machine? That might help. Available in install options for Local Area Connection.

Cheers Puff.
Services for Mac is on W2K, and appletalk is enabled. don't think the printer is IP capable, and it's only connected to the PC via a serial cable.
We did have this working a while ago, but then it stopped, for some reason (not sure what!)

In theory then, that should be browseable in chooser? Because if the W2K is visible, then any services/shares will also be? And as the printer is attached to the server queue - even if remote?
Share the queue? The drivers for the printer will come from the macs.
