Okay, but where did all the monsters come from ?
It was just covenant aliens up to now . . . .
I think the level is the one where you start in a swamp.

Okay, I'm confused . . . not difficult
I was merrily playing Halo the other day, the GF had the girls round so I had the volumne turned right down. I finished a level and there was a cut scene which I skipped
Now I'm onto a level where there are loads of Resident-Evil style monsters and loads of little bug thingies with dangly legs everywhere You have to escape from the building.
Can anyone explain what the hell happened ?!?!? The monsters seem to be attacking the covenant too
Please don't give away too much of the story, but I think I may have missed a very important scene

You've released 'the flood' which is Halo's secret and they attack and eat everything and zombiefy people etc. You now have to stop them.
Top tip - get the shotgun and keep it loaded up, it's the best weapon for the flood by a mile.
Cheers,
Phil

yeah, once the Flood starts things start to get tricky! Only the shotgun is of any use whatsoever, that and staying out of the way and letting the covenant and flood kill each other off....
excellent game! roll on Halo2!

When you are fully stuck having killed everything that the flood has to offer and can't get out.....remember to look for anything to help you climb up a floor. I was stuck for hours going round in circles solution was stupid and simple..........just like me!

Have to say one thing thats impressed me with Halo is that when i finished it on 'normal' ive been replaying it on legnedary (and occasionally on heroic) and the monsters don't spawn in the same places, slightly different narration is used etc.
Only little changes but it keeps things interesting.

A couple of hours playing (in between sinking lager) we got to the final level. Very impressive !! But a tad hard.
After you have done the first part and the clock resets to 1:30 is it best to use the tunnels that go off to the right ? Is it quicker ?

Don't stop to wait for Foehammer, leave her to get shot down on her own.
Keep going flat knacker and you can make it although it is tight and accuracy counts on the big jumps.
I've experimented with the side tunnels but it's just as hard really and if you make a mistake in some of the tight spots it can cost you too much time.
It took me 2 or 3 attempts the first time I did the final level (Heroic difficulty, D'oh!) but was quite satisfying when I managed it.
Cheers,
Phil

After almost completing the drive out at the end the first time I tried it, I've failed every time since. Wound me up so much Halo's been on the shelf for three months while I regroup. Will be deathmatching on Saturday with two mates (problem being they can look and see where you are on the split screen which ruins the surprise) so may leave the disk in on Sunday and kick that final levels ***.
