Thumbs up

Got it recently, basically it is what GP3 should have been - a complete overhaul, better menus etc. Physics engine feels more responsive. GFX engine very good, beware tho, it needs some horsepower, I've gotta run at 16bit 800x600 with minimum textures, and most of the advanced features turned right down or off to keep the CPU occupancy below 100% and get a decent framerate at most tracks - this with a GeForce2MX and an XP2000+. Time for GeForce 4 Ti4600 I think!!
The 2002 season update(unofficial) is available for download already and it updates teams, drivers, cars, and performance. All the drivers went about 3 secs a lap quicker at Silverstone after applying it!!
Loads of nice touches like animated pit crews, awesome engine sounds (you can now hear the other cars) especially between walled areas, being able to jump the start amongst others.
It appears to be 29.99 at most retailers, I paid 19.99 from a computer fair, so I recommend looking for one locally.
9/10 so far.

Cube.

I agree. It's MUCH better than GP3, but you need a serious bit of kit to run it. I've got a P4 2.533ghz system with a geforce 4Ti4600 and 512mb of 1066 rdram. I can run it with all graphic options set to max detail at 1600x1200 at it's running at 38fps

Get EA's F1 2002, much better IMHO. Maybe not so much of a simulation though. Great online action.

F1 2002 is essentially an arcade game, whereas gp4 is more of a simulation. I've got both but hardly ever play F1 2002 (not enough depth and far too buggy. Graphics are better on GP4 as well). Just depends what you're after really....
