Does anyone know an easy way to buy just the barebones of a PC system without having to resort to a home build ?

I already have CDRW, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, etc. I just want a case with Motherboard/Processor/RAM/PSU etc.

Cheers,

Jon

hey hey! Im selling P4 board! Also a 300w PSU as i ordered a 550w yesterday! Also a hard drive! Could maybe bungle them together!

All you'd need is RD Ram, and a Processor!

That's what I'm trying to avoid doing though as it's for my parents, and I don't want to be in the firing line for supporting it!

I have looked around at Dell/NEC etc to see if they do any chopped down deals on the bare essentials, but nothing quite comes into the right bracket either spec or price wise

Thanks for the responses!

At the moment I have a Celeron 333 on an Intel MAUI Motherboard (on board sound and graphics), with 196Mb RAM, a 40Gb IBM Deskstar HD, Lite-On CDRW, Internal PCI Modem, Samsung 17" CRT, MS Natural Keyboard, MS Intellipoint Mouse. This is housed in a standard midi tower AX case with a 250W PSU

I'm not too bothered about keeping anything other than the CRT, Modem, HD and CDRW

So what I was looking for was a complete system, at a low price, ready to plug and play with the other bits. I have looked at new motherboard/cpu/RAM options to upgrade and I can't be bothered.

I know PC World often have clearance units, but wondered if anywhere else did anything similar ?

Gareth - you mentioned ringing you ? Any chance of an email address, or emailing me ? I'm at work at the moment.
