I played the demo and wasn't impressed
Was really looking forward to it as well. Have so far given it a miss, but I might wait and pick it up when it's common as a second hand purchase.

My mate loves it so I popped into Dixons - £39.99!!! so I said I'll have it for £24.99 (PC World price). Ok they said
I've done the first 3 races and came 1st in each one (seems a little easy, maybe it gets harder?).
It's a lot of fun and well worth £25 if you can get it for that.

I think its very good, looooooads of tracks/cars and altho GT looks better, this is still the best driver at the moment.
I brought Automodelista on Saturday, looking very good, but a lot of Jap text is hampering the gameplay atm.

Click here, and then click in the rectangle box for some footage, give it time to load up tho.

Yeah, I've kept an eye on Auto Modellista for a while. Waiting for the US or UK release before I get it. Heard it has a lot of focus on Broadband opposed to the single player experience.

I got it on Friday and it is pretty good. There is a good selection of tracks from all over the world, the Bathurst track in the mountain section is brilliant. Plenty of cars to choose from and they drive pretty well. The first tier of the racing is quite easy but when you move up to the second one it gets harder. This level includes cars from the DTM and big American beasts, they are much more powerfull and this seems to be reflected in the way they handle. IMO it is the best racing game out, I prefer it to GT due to the inclusion of damage and the real tracks. As a bonus there are some nice Scoobs to race and they love to 4 wheel drift

naturbo - have you tried actually enjoying games rather than trying to finish them so quickly?
I used to play games like that - my goal was to finish them as quickly as poss. Now I take my time, and explore everything. GT3 for example. I have done about 400 days on the game now, and 6000km driving, yet I have only done 39% of the game.
Take your time mate

What's to take?
I've done every class in Toca - and those Aussie beasts are gonna take some mastering I admit. Unfortunately I like a challenge and am too uncreative to make my own.
MTV generation, dude

One annoying thing about TOCA is the X button (throttle) is actually analogue - you have to press *really* hard to get full throttle and hold it there for ages - my thumb is getting worn out!
And you can't change it to digital in the options - major blunder IMHO.

I love the way the anologue buttons are being used in racing games these days. I don't have the skill to use a stick for throttle, so it's quite satisfying to use anologue buttons instead of any traction control - it's a lot easier to balance a car sideways on the bends when you have more than on/off control of the throttle.
