Question

I've had to work with two very basic spreadsheets which list entries from A-Z. The first sheet covers entries A-K and the second L-Z. Each letter is represented on a different sheet with 6 column headings.

Both sheets have around the same number of entries but sheet 1 is nearly 2mb and sheet 2 is just 137k. Nobody has noticed this before but it's p1ssing me off working with something of this size when it's clearly not required.

There are no macros, I've tried copying the data to a new workbook but it carries overthe cause - whatever it may be.

Anyone have any suggestions?...

FIA

Sounds like u got alot of unused cells in sheet 1 (ie used in the past n then deleted), highlight all the cells not needed and do, edit/clear all on the blank cells, resave, n see if that makes a difference. If not then delete the rows with the blank cells, using shift on the 1st empty row+end/home to select all, delete.
