Question is in the title. Only got a P3 450MHz PC - can I put a DVD burner in and will it be fast enough to write data to a DVD?

Should be no problem, DVD burners aren't very quick yet so will handle it no problem.

Minimum spec is about 300Mhz

Just that my local computer store has the latest Pioneer one for £199 incl vat & 50 free DVD discs (probably cheap rubbish discs, but still!).

Well, just bought one of these this afternoon for £200 including 50 DVD-R discs and it works a treat!

It's the Pioneer A04 drive - 2 x DVD-R write.

Plugged it in, and XP is coping over 4Gb of MP3 data onto it as we speak. Easy peasy.
