Question

I am quite new to ASP, so please bear with me.

Basically I have an ASP page which I'm trying to 'include' a header. I use the command:

<!--#include file="header.inc"-->

The complied ASP page loads up ok, but when I try and click any link it opens up in a new window as if it was "target=_blank".

Any ideas?

Hi Si

When you say "convert to ASP" what exactly do you mean? At the moment it looks like your page is just HTML using Javascript to do the menuing system.

Basically "classic ASP" (as opposed to new fangle ASP.NET) is mainly made up of HTML but ASP code (nearly always VBScript) is mixed in there too between special ASP tags that just generate normal HTML when the page runs/loads.

It always helps to know what you want before you ask for it!

Decide excactly what you need to do with the page, then we can advise on the best way of going about it.

Incidentally, you can have a returnable form and keep that page as static HTML. You just add an .asp or .php page to process the form.
