When tyring to register the above i keep getting this
DHCP release/renew failed.
Does anyone have a clue? It's really getting on my nerves, and i'm on the verge of telling NTL where to stick their cable!

Had the same problem when I tried to register last November.
Had to phone Tech Support on 0845 6500121 to get it sorted.
No probs since.

I'll give that a stab in the morning. I would assume that that number is £1/min?

Also, make sure your firewall isn't blocking DHCP requests via SVCHOST.EXE.
NTL send a message every 4 hours to release / renew your IP address.

I'm on!!!!!!! Thanks for your help everyone. What it came down to was the crossover plugged into the back of the set top box. Basically, it didn't need one. So it was down to the ***** who installed it.
PS - everthing is soooooo much faster!
