Question

Sorry - dumb question time....

Windows related, using Word.
I normally know what to do if I get this message - I think it means that the file has been opened elsewhere and not "closed" again...

However, a friend is trying to save/burn a Word document to a CD in order to sent it to me and has got this message.
I haven't got access to his computer, and he's asked me how to get round the problem.

I could do with a little advice, to pass on to him..

Any help?

Thanks

Rich

Sounds like the file attribute of the word doc is set to read only, was it copied from a CD originally? Anyway simply uncheck the readonly attribute (right mouse button/properties on the document) and then he should be able to burn it.

Thumbs up

No he created the file himself.
(It's a boring werk related newsletter...)

But that sounds like a likely fix... I'll give him a call.

Thanks mate

Also happens quite often if a file is emailed, then saved as...
