Powerpoint file trying to dial up internet
#1
I have a Powerpoint 2002 file sent to me, when ever I try and open it the laptop tries and connects to the internet. I cancel this and the file opens ok.
I can't see any links in the presentation to the web.
Any ideas?

What are you using to open it? If it's powerpoint, is Office update trying to access the web?
Otherwise, perhaps it's got some video inside the file, and is trying to d/l a codec. Or perhaps there's a font it's trying to find.
Otherwise it could be that the PPT file directly links back to an image or a script which is on the internet somewhere.
Can you post the file here, so we can take a look?

Sorted
The user had inserted a picture they got off the internet straight into the presentation, which must have some sort of embedded link.
Deleted the picture and all is fine.
