Hi Guys and Gals,
Can onyone help me on this one ?
Our exchange server for some reason now doesn't inform users that mail is undeliverable. I.E. incorrect address . I sent myself a test mail with incorrect spelling (obviously correct domain) and nothing informed me of the problem. I've checked settings and all seems O.K. Am I missing something beedin' obvious ??
Thanks for looking, and help would be appreciated.
In case you missed it on the subject line I'm running Exchange 5.5.
Ta !

Hi David,
That's not the problem, the sender doesn't get informed that the message he/she sent cannot be delivered.
Probably the way I described the problem ! Doh !!
Cheers,
Darrell

So you've looked under the IMS connection to see 1) if the notifcations is on and 2) to which mailbox it is delivered?

Paul

So no message back to the Internet reporting it failed?
Hmm. Do you get an internal notification to the Admin mailbox on the IMS properties?

Paul,
I can mail externally no problem, and there was an NDR in the exchserv admin mailbox, so Exchange is aware of the delivery problem.

Do we know why the mail item is not delivered, is it a wrong user name or domain name?
