Quiet on the games front? DazV

Hey DW!
Must be a sign of old age but I'm playing with apps more now!
Still, there's the odd bits and bobs that send a tingle down my catheter...
PC Games...
Just been given a copy of Alien vs. Predator II to try - its a little old, but I haven't seen it yet.
Also just got Solider of Fortune II Double Helix, which I haven't been that impressed with up to now.
Got Grand Prix 4 but lost interest in it pretty quickly.
Anyone remember Secret Weapons of The Luftwaffe from yonks ago ? Well Lucasarts have signed up Larry Holland / Totally Games to do a new game in the series. This is the same developer who did the X-Wing Alliance, X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter series.
Expansion pack for Medal Of Honour is out soon I believe.
Playstation2
Keeping an eye out for Resident Evil 0 - a prequel to the series.
Aero Dancing IV (flight sim) and Silent Hill II are out (if you know where to look) and Stuntman looked promising although DJ Dunk didn't like it, if I remember. Looking forward to Colin Macrae3
GameCube
Haven't got round to buying one yet as I'm a bit busy and I know it would take up my time - Zelda and Mario Sunshine look great.

MJ - strange but I'm getting the first IGI tomorrow - someone mentioned they rated it highly so I asked if I could have a look. I read in the past the 'save game' function let the game down.
There's a few pics of IGI2 floating around...

the no save game was a pain if you wanted to blast through the game, i found it made for greater longevity. with IGI, the enemy AI is very predictable and this is really the only way to get through the levels-it is just a case of rembering where the enemy soldiers are.
about halfway throgh the game i realized using the binoculars was a good way of snipimg the enemy with the standard weapons- as soon as i had this sussed the gameplay sped up no-end.
IGI took me about 5 months to finish on and off, some of the individual levels took about 2-3 weeks to suss out. the most annoying thing is knowing you are right at the end of a level, this can be anything up to 1.5 hrs if you are being careful- and then getting shot.
Still one of my all time favourite games.

MJ - I suppose the save game faeture makes things really tense and dramtic as you approach the end of the level.
The last game I played to death like that was Operation Flashpoint - really loved that one but it had a steep learning curve to begin with. Very atmospheric though. The demo for the sequel has just come out incidentally - Operation Flashpoint Resistance.
