Question

wat??? you had it for 3 months? are you on the same planet?

w2k sp3 is only out today (officially) for major customers and out tomorrow for everyone else, although everyone can download it now.

big difference between w2k sp3 and IE6!

That'll be the SP3 RC that was pulled because of security concerns with windows installer.

The download is 126MB. Si, unless you wanna be 0wnd, suggest you a) get software from reputable source in future b) download the real sp3.

By the way, if someone sends u a file called "brittneynaked.exe", don't run it.

Y'see those little letters "RC"

It means release candidate.

Release candidates are issued to test. This one got killed because the windows installer in it has what can fairly be described as a massive security flaw, meaning your machine can be owned.

By running RCs outside of MS's beta programme you're unsupported and vulnerable to published hacks on the RC which soon circulate. MS push update RCs out to their testers.

I ain't the daddy, and I don't want to be. But I like to know the authenticity of stuff running on my machine
