Almost every time I start up my PC I get an error message saying "windows has encountered an error accessing the system registry" it then repairs it and re-boots and is ok until I start it up again (usually the next day)when I get the same message again. Anyone have any idea what I can do to fix it? Thanks.

what OS is it? might be some "left over" software that wasn't cleanly un-install.

or better still, disable the registry checker that runs when windows starts up... that way, the error never appears.....

do a scandisk of your HDD. maybe the system registry is writing into a bad sector of the HDD.

other normal stuff to do is virus scan it. goto START/RUN and type msconfig. have a snoop if anything is not normal.
