Help......
I need to recover some files from a hard disk that has been re ghosted using Norton Ghost, or I need to recover them from a server.
They were deleted from the server, by someone connecting to the share and deleting them. Not by someone stood in front of it (in which case , they would be in the recycle bin )
Anyone any ideas.
My *** is on the line

If you've ghosted an image over the old data you wanted back....it's impossible...as ghost overwrites EVERYTHING !..sorry guys even if you had all the money that Bill Gates has got it wouldn't make any difference.....

Dunno for sure but the server ones are going to be treated the same way as any other deleted file - couldn't say re- ghosting.
Pal of mine had his W2K lappy formatted & then a new install, when he left his last company, came to me & we found a number of Undelete utilites at Downloads.com & for $20 he had all his files back :d
Me? Well I like Novell as unless you have Purge set up, you can get back files that are accidently deleted Saved me a few times as well as making me the hero for users

Right - so we definitely can't get them back off the pc then .
The files were also stored on the server at 10am yesterday and were deleted about 2pm in the afternoon , so they weren't backed up overnight
they aren't in the rcycle bin of the server , or the pc that they were deleted from
I presume there must be someway of getting them back if they haven't been overwritten.

Stop worrying, take a breath & go searching on downloads.com
Using undelete as the word, search came up with all sorts - just at a glance, this might help, but there are loads up there!

How can your *** be on the line? If the person deleted a file from a share and it wasn't around when the backup took place then surely its his fault...
My advise is to use the old "Teflon shoulders" one.
