Ooh, there's loads of them about.
Personally I've used XMB (php/mysql based) and YABB (perl based)
YABB seemed the easiest to get started with IMO, although I believe XMB will give you more control over customisation.

You'll need access to a CGI directory to use YABB, which geocities wont give you. I don't know if they run PHP on their webservers, but since it expands Apache children to 10 meg (that's after stripping the debug symbols out of the httpd binary) I doubt it!
