Windows laptop
My mother wants a Windows based laptop for routine stuff e.g. interneting and emailing....nothing amazing and her budget is 400 pounds. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Have you considered a tablet? If you're only emailing and browsing I personally don't see the need for a laptop any more. If you're worried about the typing experience you could just get a bluetooth keyboard. I got both of my grandparents away from their craptastic laptops and onto iPad's and they both love them.

Are you after new? I have my have my Dell Latitude E6440 in Silver/Black that I've just stopped using due to upgrade so this would be well under the budget you state above
Its an Intel Core i5-4200M CPU @ 2.5GHz, 8GB RAM, 64 Bit Win 10 Pro
Samsung 850 EVO Solid state 500GB Hard Drive
AVG virus protection and ZoneAlarm Firewall free versions installed otherwise completely fresh Windows install. Very quick to boot to desktop due to it running the solid state drive.Got a130W power supply and a carry case along with it too.
