Question

Any recommendations for those essential apps on your PC that you find useful or couldn't live without?

At the moment I'm restricted to browsing the net from my works laptop, so have been unable to access all these useful apps

But I'll have my new PC next week so stuff all that!

Win XP Pro (patched up to date)
Winamp (refuse to do anything unless i have some nice music playing)
Winzip (I know XP will do it, but I still like WinZip)
WinRar (Another cool compression thinghy)
X-Chat (IRC, i prefer it to mIRC)
MSN Messenger (Everyones got it, easy to use etc)
Sygate Personal Firewall (Can never be too careful)
Norton Antivirus 2002 (Ditto, had some bad experiences)
Nero Burning ROM (great cd burning software)
Kazaa Lite (Latest version is good, Speed Up is a nice feature)
WinDVD (dunno why, but i prefer it to PowerDVD)
SiSoft Sandra (benchmarking software)
Motherboard Monitor (for keeping an eye on system temps)

Then for webdesign work I tend to use..

Notepad (just so I can say I make my sites in Notepad )
Evrsoft First Page 2000 (slightly nicer text editor)
Macromedia Fireworks (love it, best image software i've ever used)
Photoshop (dont really like it, prefer fireworks, but its good for some things)
Macromedia Dreamweaver (just to check stuff, throw together a quick design)

and various versions of Mozilla, Internet Explore and Nutscrape to test sites in.

Oh, and most importantly of all, loadsa games

WinXP Pro
WinAmp (can't be doing without music for long)
Eudora (avoiding Outlook and even worse, OE)
PSP
Trillian (MSN IM, Yahoo, ICQ all in one and even works thro the company firewall )
Forte Agent
Visual C++
couple of my own progs, one to record music - the other to edit mp3s
McAfee VS but then I might be a biased on that one
