Download the Divx bundle from Divx.com, this installs The Playa and the codecs required to view them in Media Player.
Personally I prefer Media Player or Power DVD to view them

errr.....as I understand it once you have loaded the DivX codecs from the DivX website it will play in pretty much anything.
It deffo plays in media player, as media player just looks in the windows system folder for an appropriate decompressor for the video stream.
It does on my XP anyhow......

Tough choice...
For most files I use media player, but DivX5 Playa has the feature to change the aspect ratio of the file so you can almost make widescreen look full screen.
I've also found that on some files the quality looks slightly better on DivX5 Playa than Media Player
