.. why then buy and X-Box (bar Halo, which is Quake/Unreal with ***** on) ????
Surely you are only going have access to exactly the same s/w titles that potentially won't run as well or at as high a resolution?
Just a thought, bit argumentative probably..
Discuss....

PS. and how many of you have seen the X-box blue screen of death?

here we go again....
If you've got a decent PC why buy a PS2?
Why do people keep getting hung up about the fact that the Xbox is based on PC architecture and then think that their PC can do just as good a job?
It's true that some titles will come out for the PC eventually but some definately won't. The same with the PS2.
I've owned an Xbox since the release date and it's never crashed on hung on me.
Everyone thats seen Dead or Alive3 or Rallisport challenge sits in awe of the graphics and playability. Why does it matter what's inside the case? Just get a few mates round (or go to them!), order pizza down a few beers and PLAY the games.

I never play games on PC's. With a console if it's got XBox/PS2 on the package it works and works the same where ever I take the game. How many PC's purchased 2 years ago can still run the latest releases, mine certainly couldn't without more memory and a new graphics card.

Neanderthal - I wasn't being that serious - bit bored at work (lots to do, just none of it interesting..)
Sorry didn't mean for it to be one of the war like posts!
I can see the benefits of getting the Xbox being:
- P3 technology
- Nvidia chipset
- access to all the PC style games and console style games
- and all for a couple of hundred quid, compared to big $$$ for a decent PC..
I will eventually get the Xbox when it comes down in price further, as I already have PS2, GameCube and P4 system.. and because I strongly dislike M$oft and don't like giving them any of my cash...
My mates system has blue screened approx 5 out of the 10 times he has used it... thats why I relate the system to a PC, it has the same characteristics as a PC re: stability, might be a bit more stable as the o/s has been taylored to the h/w, but still runs a M$ o/s, so it prone to their inherent problems... IMHO.
We all know its got the best graphic/sound capabilities of all the consoles - I'm not slating the system.

Not very multiplayer friendly to huddle round a PC screen eh?
200 quid for the hardware is less than a Geforce 3 card alone for a PC - seems a bit of a bargain to me then......
PC games have to be written for a lot of specs, xbox is one spec so you can squeeze the maximum you want out of it rather than worry about frame rates on lesser spec machines..........
Plus I've got Halo now and its fapping cool. How about the Unreal game coming and Colin McRae 3 too..........

X-Box over PC, (I own both) Here we go:
Playing on the sofa
Plugged into my hi-fi
And my widescreen TV
With no drivers to update
Or new versions of DirectX
And no crashes (that's none since launch date)
Ragging the sh*t out of the Covenant in my Warthog, with my mate in the gunners seat
Quickly swapping to MotoGP for a blast round Suzuka
Without worrying about my hardware being out of date in 12 months time
Or having to use a mouse and keyboard, like I don't do enough of that already
I can honestly say that since buying the X-Box I haven't played any PC or Mac games.
