Question Laptop Advice

I am stuck at home with my foot in a cast and cannot get to my office and main PC. Currently using an ASUS laptop at home but it's so slow I want to get something a bit faster. No gaming but music and general surfing and usual office stuff Word/Excel etc.

So suggestions please. Large screen, decent build quality Windows 7 already installed. DVD writer and webcam. Say max £450 or less preferred. None of this touch screen stuff.

Where is a good place to buy on-line and can I still buy Word '03?

Many thanks, David

You could clone you're drive to ssd type. The most effective way to get more speed. SSD are cheap these days

Strange, because my desktop is slow at the mo, but my ASUS laptop is lightning fast.

Can you look at what programmes are starting up automatically?

Just remind me what I type in RUN to find backround programmes. I know Skype, AVG are included.

Also what processer to go for? And memory 4 or 8 RAM minimum?
