Dual Booting - Win 2k and Win 98

WIN2k will automatically initiate dual boot, if you already have another operating system installed.
You really need to install WIN2k in it's own partition or hard disk. If you use a partition, you need to ensure that it hasn't been formated.......it is best to take benefit of the NTFS file system of win2k.
You can use FDISK to partition the disk.

Shaun.

quick and dirty way...
since you got two 40G HDD, install windows 98 first on c:\ and then windows 2000 on d:\
keep both file system as FAT32 so you can access both drives from both OS.
sorted.

http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/fr...tfswin98.shtml will let Win9x read NTFS partitions.
You can't boot from 9x from an NTFS partition with it though.
Why do you want 98 anyway?

just partition your HDD for whatever OS you want on it if you dont have any IDE channels left.
you can split it 3 ways, FAT32 (win98), NTFS (NT) and ext3 (linux). get yourself a copy of partition magic (i think available on this month's PCPRO magazine cover CD) and you can change partition size on the fly as you like it.
