Default Samsung S6 Camera is very good.

Not as good as last years iPhone but it's still very good.

That's ok jack, note 4 camera is better than ip6, and has a far better screen, more memory, faster processor, doesn't bend etc

But it's android so it's ****...I've also just read about Samsung trying it on with customers.
Guy sent it back as screen didn't work right Samsung use a special machine to spot cracks in the screen that we the humans can't see and they void the warranty how ****es that.

Popped into Tesco the other day and they had the S6 for demo. The S6 is pretty impressive piece of kit. The screen is the best I've ever seen on a phone, nothing comes close and the build quality and durability is surpasses that of the iphone.

The only picture that the S6 didnt beat the iphone 6 on was the very low light one, the one with the orange thing with the bulbs, seems the flash was on by the looks so diluted the colour a little, all the rest, the S6's camera wins.

Same with the iPhone 6 vs Note 4, the iPhone actually won them all, but the staff were held at Stylus point by a Fandroid.

Other way round jack ip6 bested the note 4 in low light, but note 4 won everything else.

That's because S6 and N4 use the same sony sensor.

Jonc you do realise the N4 has the same screen, except it's 5.7" the S6 is what 5.1" at a guess?

I was responding to Tony's suggestion that we take his word over the reviewers.

5 years ago no one would believe the results from these devices, amazing really.

Ah gotcha.
Yeah is rather impressive, they're getting to levels where they give entry level dslr's a run for the money.

Given the sensor size differences, it really is impressive.

Sure i read somewhere that in the future, most cameras will be phones. As tech will evolve to the point making dslr cameras obsolete.

I've been taking that same panorama since Apple introduced the feature years ago, good fun seeing the quality increase.

I agree, smartphones have drastically changed the way we view the world and remember it.

Graphene phones will be the next game changer.

Actually I read the review after making my comments, and guess what? The reviewer and I agree, so you must not be reading the full review Jack. plus doing photography as a hobby does help as you get use to what is good and what is not, what needs a little touch up etc, hence my response (which is correct btw).
Samsung = better daylight pictures, worse low light, little over compensation from the flash which dilutes the colour slightly.

Overall the iPhone 6 won the test, at least we agree on that. If you want to find comfort in some tiny detail then go ahead. I too agree with the reviewer, I look at the pictures and the iPhone 6 is better.

Lets go through them shall we Jack?

Picture 1, over exposed on the iphone 6.
Picture 2 again too much exposure and loses colour on the iphone 6
Picture 3 The dials win this for me, blurred on the iphone 6
Picture 4 iphone wins this, blurred on the S6
Picture 5 harder to tell because its not lined up but the S6 wins this due to picture clarity
Picture 6 Sharper image on the iphone so it wins*
Picture 7 More noise from the S6 and a slight yellowness, iphone wins.

So the S6 wins more than the iphone 6 there, really it would have been nice if they hadnt shot in HDR and they needed to crop the pictures better so they lined up more in some of them.

*Note for 6 sharper at the front, blurred at the rear on the iphone, blurred at the front, sharper on the rear S6.

Yes the reviewer prefers the iphone over the S6 for pictures

In bright light, I’m hard pressed to find anything major to complain about. In low light, pictures tend to come out a little more yellow than I’d like, and it can be pretty aggressive in lightening things up too much. Yes, you see artifacting when you zoom in on the results, but not enough to bother me. And in some cases, I actually preferred the lighter images that Samsung put out to what I got with the iPhone 6 Plus.
And...
The truth, though, is that this is probably the closest any Android phone has ever come to the "just shoot" mentality I love about the iPhone. Especially with the real time HDR, I found myself trusting the Galaxy S6 to simply get it right instead of diving into the expert settings. I don’t know if I’ve ever just trusted an Android phone to get it right and been rewarded for it, but the S6 has been doing just that, consistently.
Not sure which review you are reading Jack but its not the same one as me, and I read the review AFTER giving MY thoughts on it, we came to the same conclusion btw.

Read the comments Tony, it's not just you that's wrong. In your defense you probably don't have an Apple retina display, if you like photography you should consiider the 5k iMac, simply stunning.

5k sounds great but it's only 218ppi, try the Galaxy S6, if you think 218ppi is stunning, you'll be blown away by the 577ppi display of the S6.

Quick Reply: Samsung S6 Camera is very good.
