Default SD cards for video cameras-read rates etc

Hi

Can anybody help with this? I need a couple of 64gb sd cards for a gopro. I know I need a class 10 but what would be the advantage of getting this one with a faster read rate? This ones quite expensive at £40

SanDisk SDSDQXN-064G-FFPA Extreme 64 GB microSDXC UHS-I Class 10 U3 Memory Card up to 60 MB/s read FFP

This one is far cheaper at about £25

SanDisk SDSDQUN-064G-FFP-A Ultra Android 64 GB microSDXC UHS-I Class 10 Memory Card + SD Adapter up to 48 MB/s read FFP

Would the lower read rate affect the video recording ability at all?

Thanks

The write speed is what's important and is pretty much double on the Extreme. Both fine for 1080p but the Extreme will handle 4k too.

You need to look at the technical spec of the GoPro. There's no point wasting money on a card that is faster than the GoPro can work, although you do want a card that at least equals the GoPro performance. Usually the card they supply is fine but too small so you can buy a larger one of the same type/spec.

When buying memory cards I'd recommend my memory , worth checking their ebay store first as sometime its cheaper on there than on their site .

I've got an issue ding with my new Camera where as i need to use U3 not U1, the cam records 4k and with what I've bought so far it seems to do it, but there are 2 options greyed out on the Camera, on phoning Panasonic i was told that i must use U3, so after id already purchased a couple of

Lexar 600x 32gb cards

Ive now ordered the worlds fastest LOL the sandisk Expreme pro at 280MS read and 250MS write but only 16GB as the 32 is 90 and 64 180 GULP!!!!

But I've also ordered a 64 GB Kingston
http://www.kingston.com/us/flash/sd_cards#sda3

the pro 1 at the end, writes at 80ms, just to see if i can get away with the slower card but still U3

Transcend are cheapest, but my Manual says that the Cam needs 100MS to work properly or you'll get frame skipping or the possibility of it.

Whats go pro advise u get ?

EDIT

So it maxes out at 60MBsec according to website , so id try get U3 and above 60MB sec...
