Default Iphone 5 or 5s

I'm going to purchase my daughter one used from Smartfonestore as she needs a new iPod and a new phone, the 5 is cheap now but is it worth me paying the extra for the 5s?

I looked on Smartfonestore store and a grade c iPhone 5 locked to EE is £189 for a 64gig model but the 5s is £249 for a grade c 16gig model.

I have had the iPhone 5 and had no problems with it but is it too old now?

I'm tempted to buy the iPhone 6 for myself but I'm waiting for the 64gig model to come down to near £300 before I get a used one.

Stuff those and get the 6 plus .

I've got my iPhone 5, 16GB, on eBay or are you set on buying it from that store? My 5 works perfectly and is in great condition (kept in a quality leather case from day 1). Auction ends next Sunday .

5s is massively better. Touch ID alone is worth the extra.

I have bought a grade c from them before and the phone looked like new, I can't get something as big as a 6plus as she is at school and it needs to fit in her jacket pocket. The 5/5s is the right size.

They are only £149 from smartfonestore and they come with warranty and a 60 day returns policy

She is really good at looking after stuff but I will pay out for a quality case say tech 21 so in case she does drop it it isn't a new screen

I'm in the building trade fella , hands are normally covered in plaster dust or cement.....I hear even sweaty hands won't unlock them.
Suppose working in a office with nice soft hands and there's no problems
Like I said , I shall try it for a few days and if I don't get on with it I still have my 5 and I'll sell this

I'm a plasterer and I have the Samsung s5 and due to the dust and water I use the phone is a nightmare. I have seen on the web people using them under water yet if I have wet fingers when I touch it it crashes till I dry the screen

5s new processor too..

I do prefer my 6 though screens much larger and better....

5c is basically the 5 with a girls case same internals. Only the 5s used the new processor etc..

Other than being slightly bigger but lighter, there is nothing in the real world my 5 did overs and above the Wife's 4s so I can't thing of a single thing - Touch ID included (useless to me anyway) that would sway me to pay a premium for the 5s.
My free upgrade was due last September but I've opted for a far cheaper tariff rather than acquire a 6. Again - real world use doesn't put the 6 leagues ahead of the 5 and as they both run the latest IOS, it would be a utter waste of money for your average user!

Well the 5 has a larger screen for a start and you say you won't use Touch ID but once you do I can guarantee you'll miss it when you have dirty fingers and have to put in your code.

iv got craftsmen paws actually , if anything ( probably)

ill get a 'real' phone . But one thing is 100% for sure, after iv got it ill wonder why actually did i pay all that cash/commtitment over a 50 quid model

when 95 % of the time it performs the same function as 700 quid example

Like I say, the Touch ID is useless to me just like the code is equally useless to me
The OP is asking about 5 or 5S - I mentioned the 4S simply because other that the larger screen and less bulk, the 5 is not real step forward (in the real world) in function or ability! The difference between the 5 and 5s is practically zero again in the real world for the average user! Forget all the benchmark testing crap, and they just produce numbers for ***** waving!

The 5s will be supported for a good while after the 5 is dropped, the security is worth the extra.

The security of the finger print thing or the security of knowing Apple will support the hardware longer?
Neither is worth paying £60 extra when comparing a 16g 5s to a 64g 5!
