So I've got the old iPad one 64 under the bed used mainly for Netflix not much else, I see Samsung will give you 100 quid against there TAB S range, quite tempted towards the 8.4 which would make it 149 quid for one...
My missus has the 64gig 1st gen and its still quite good for what she uses. You can buy a used ipad mini for £149 at smartfoneatore so 8 would rather spend my cash on another ipad that way than have the samsung tablet.
It's a tricky one. A bit like Hyundai offering you a good trade in price for your ageing BMW, but bottom dollar for an old Hyundai. It's suspect but very tempting, do you invest in something that's worked well for 5 or 6 years and still has value or save a bit of cash now, get a shiny new toy and have nothing to show for it in a year or two.
I still have an ipad 1 sitting here gathering dust because most apps require ios 7 or above now so kills off the ipad 1 for so many apps. Only really use it now for internet radio/tv.
i have an iPad 1 32gb 3g, and am concerned only because of the app compatibility as you pointed out An0n0m0us.
May be worth trading in with this deal, and selling the TAB immediately before it devalues to bugger all - then using the bunce to help buy a more current iPad

I'll pass on that for now, although a nice stand and a bluetooth keyboard does work in some situations the price will be too scary for me and I'm not sure I could dump my Macbook.
