Android; tsk tsk...
I'm saying i've installed it on a device mentioned in the article with no issues and it runs perfectly. I've never rooted my device or messed with it in any way so who knows what those complaining have done to their devices.

To be fair my 2012 N7 hangs/lags/crashes on KitKat - and has done since late Jelly Bean - so I'm expecting this to remain unchanged with Lollipop. From what I recall, there's a a hardware issue around the NAND storage on a depressing number of the 2012 N7's which makes them perform pretty badly at times
Lollipop itself is pretty nice - runs very well indeed on my N5, and I've not personally had any issues with it. Can always roll back to KitKat if I do encounter any showstopping problems, but so far I'm not expecting to.

That's not really an excuse. Apple don't have the hardware issue and they messed up iOS 8. MS used to mess up all the time, and it was core stuff, not related to being on disparate hardware.
The enterprise software I use at work is the same, and that is very specialised. The last release of the sotware I use was shocking, so they put out a fix pack, which actually introduced even worse errors! We have commented to the vendor about the quality of releases, and that is much less widespread then things like Android or iOS. It just seems everyone is obsessed with getting a big update out yearly, or more, and QC has gone down the drain.
Our insatiable appetite for better, now, seems to be the thing that hurts most.

But coders code, it is what they do - so no real surprise
