Default Internet security

Ive got windows 8 for my pc with Norton security.Its due to expire and I was told about windows defender which is free to download.Is it any good or is there anything anyone can recomend

I run the equivalent version on Windows 7 and have had no problems at all.

I also use the free version of this https://www.malwarebytes.org/

I think the best one you pay for is still NoD32

So is there a need for all this expensive Norton and that kapersky thing or other

I believe windows defender is included in windows 8

It will tell you when you try and download it

Cheers mate .I have it but its not running but when I bought the computer from pc world Norton was pre installed

It's all much of a muchness to be honest. Each one will find and miss some infections.

Personally I'm using Bitdefender and Malwarebytes at the moment.

It's interesting to see people posting about not having any issues, the best viruses won't give you any issues, they'll just be silently stealing from you.

If you bank with Barclays online, you get the latest Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 with 3 user licences for free.
