iphone 4s unlocking ?
Okay guys been offered an iphone 4s 32GB at a very good price problem being is it was originally bought and used in the usa on the AT&T network, question is can it be unlocked for use here in the uk and will it work okay ? will jailbreaking a phone allow you to use any sim card ?

jailbreaking allows you to run custom apps etc, it wont unlock a phone as far as i know.
Id pay the extra few skeckels for an unlocked fone. And when you go to buy it TAKE A SIM WITH YOU, ive had the odd chancer say its factory unlocked and its been locked to ireland O2 ffs!

Ask whomever is selling it if they are able to get it unlocked from AT&T, it'd be much simpler if they can do that.
The only other option is to use a jailbreak, which is required BEFORE you can then run an unlock. The two go hand in hand, without a JB, you cannot use an unlock.
The downside of this unlocking is that you cannot upgrade the OS on the phone until they come out with a new jailbreak, as typically new OS versions will fix the holes used to get the jailbreak to work.
