Do windscreens have a protective finish?
Was detailing my car yesterday getting ready for Japfest this weekend, and used turtle wax glass polish on my windows and lights. I've used it before with no problems, but never on the windscreen. I put it on and buffed it off the other windows and lights with no issues, when I went to remove it from the windscreen it has left what look like little specks, but they almost feel like a small indent ...... I'm wondering if there was a protective covering that the polish may have damaged it??
Only things I can think of are that it was overcast and cool when I applied it, but when I left for 15 minutes the sun came out and heated up the windscreen, not sure if that would have an effect or not? Or perhaps small chips that have now been heightend by the polish? It's clear from the inside too which is odd, I've tried a small amount of white spirit on a small area but it didn't do anything, and tried a small amount of polish once the glass had cooled down but again no good....
Any thoughts / comments welcome
