alloy cleaning Q
I took 1 of my alloys off to clean, I firstly removed the dirt and brake dust with just water and sponge, the tougher stuff I used Meguiars wheel cleaner and brush the wheels came up lovely apart from some black spots caked on the inside of the rim which wouldnt budge, I tried using clay and didnt make a difference?
any ideas what it is and any products i could use to remove it? the alloys are mint apart from this??? and its really annoying.

Then give the rims a few coats of Jeffs Prime Strong

Then a few coats with Poor boys wheel sealant
Poorboys Wheel Sealant - Poorboys Car Care and Detailing Products
And finally dress your tyres with Blackfire tyre gel
Blackfire Long Lasting Tyre Gel - Blackfire Car Care and Detailing Products
Or all three available as a kit
Wheel Protection Kit - Polished Bliss Car Care and Detailing Kits
All from www.polishedbliss.co.uk

I have some of the Poorboys wheel sealent from Polished bliss and can confirm it's bloody good stuff. On my 205 the big brake discs (283mm) inside a 15" rim really cake them in dust, but a building up layers of the sealant everytime I wash it makes a hell of a difference.
My wheels are white too, so imagine howbad they look

It does sound like stubborn tar spotting, so as suggested above, Autosmart Tardis would be a good choice (which can also be used on your bodywork as and when needed too). The only other thing it could be is burnt on deposits of brake dust; these can be a bugger to remove, quite often requiring very aggressive claying and a follow up polish with Prime Strong.
